VW Varok pickup: illustration

The amazingly realistic-sounding name of VW Varok behind the idea for a pickup, which can turn on request also in a station wagon.

The VW Varok designed the two French design students Valentin Fuchs and Pierre Joveneaux at her internship at VW. Their answer to the question of how VW could gain a foothold in the competitive market of UTE in Australia. Pickups are popular UTE (English for utility vehicle), car-based and down under. The special feature of the VW Varok: he takes one - admittedly, not entirely new - idea to combine two vehicle concepts in a body. So, for example, the Skoda fun made it in the 1990s and combined the advantages of the pickups with the free air pleasure of convertibles. Only the VW wants to be Varok on request not a convertible, but just a station wagon. The for this necessary technology is not clearly explained, but indicates that the rear Windows from the side wall up and the rear roof segment from the front shut out come.
