24-hour race: No speed limit at the Nürburgring (update) no speed limit at the Nürburgring

After 2015 due to an accident on some sections of the Nürburgring, a speed limit was introduced, can be raced on the hunt for speed records again uncontrollably. Currently there is no speed limit.

As the DMSB (German motor sport federal) decided to introduce a speed limit on the Nürburgring, it mainly concerned the safety of spectators. It was the tragic accident (2015) by Jann Mardenborough at the VLN race where a spectator killed came. In addition to the speed limit at certain sections, one belonged to extensive security package of the DMSB also performance reductions for some vehicle classes, as well as an access lock on certain viewing areas at critical points of the racetrack's.
