Founded by Michio Suzuki in 1909 as a producer for looms in Japan, Suzuki Motor Corporation today the second largest exporter of motorcycles in the world. In 1955 launched the series production of the first car, the Suzulight. Since 1980, the cars, especially small cars and a compact SUV, also available in Germany. When developing new models like Suzuki collaborates with major manufacturers such as Fiat, Opel or GM. Since 2010, Volkswagen holds a 19.9 percent stake in Suzuki.
